Correct use and maintenance of tractor tires

Tires are an important part of the agricultural machinery walking system, which directly affects the various performances of the vehicle. Correct use and maintenance of the tires and extension of the service life of the tires are of great significance to the use of agricultural machinery. The length of the tire's service life, although it has a certain relationship with the quality of the tire, but also with the correct use and maintenance can not be separated.

Causes and prevention methods of tire wear

First, the cause of tire wear. 1. If the tire pressure is too high or too low, it will affect its service life, and it is also unfavorable for safe driving. If the internal pressure of the tire is too low or overloaded, the stress and deformation of the carcass will be greatly increased, and the mechanical friction between the tire and the grounding area and the internal friction of the carcass will be intensified, causing tire wear and damage. If the internal pressure of the tire is too high, the tensile stress of the tire ply will be increased, the shear stress between the tire layers will be increased, the rigidity of the carcass will increase, and the landing area will be reduced, resulting in deterioration of the tire performance and wear and damage. The scientific inflation standard should be: based on the standard pressure of the tire, the temperature of the tire changes slightly with the change of temperature. For example, summer should be 5%-7% lower than winter, because the summer temperature is high, the gas is heated, the volume is increased, and the pressure is high. On the contrary, it must reach the standard pressure or slightly lower in winter. 2. Sharp start, braking and sharp turns during use will accelerate the wear of the tire, causing collapse and loss of the bead. 3. Fast over high and sharp obstacles, which can easily cause damage to the tire due to cutting, bursting, and puncturing. 4. Long-term high-speed driving. According to the tire's own characteristics, as the vehicle speed increases, the tire's deformation frequency increases, causing the tire temperature to rise, causing wear and damage. 5. The traction performance on soft soil is poor, especially in paddy field operations or after driving on muddy roads, it is easy to produce slippery wear tires. 6. Improper adjustment of the toe causes tread wear. 7. During the disassembly and maintenance of the tires, if the tires are inadvertently wounded, bruised, bruised, and rims, or mixed with sand, stone and other debris in the front tires of the inner tubes, the tires may be damaged. 8. Park and tires are improperly stored, exposed to sunlight and oil, causing corrosion and deterioration of the tires.

Second, the prevention method. 1. During the use of the tire, the tire pressure should be checked frequently and inflated according to the internal pressure marked on the sidewall. 2. When starting, turning and braking, don't be too aggressive, try to avoid shifting start, slamming clutch, heavy load, high throttle start, turn to death and kill steering wheel, and unnecessary sudden braking. Due to the low driving skills, many new drivers often have frequent emergency braking during driving due to lack of experience. They often take emergency start and high-speed steering and turning, the drag and traction resistance is too high, the wheels are slipping for a long time, or Passing obstacles sloppyly, some will not choose the road surface and the corresponding driving speed, which will also affect the life of the tire. 3. When driving on uneven roads and working on soybeans, corn, etc., slow down. 4. The speed of the vehicle should be mastered according to the actual situation, and try to avoid long-distance high-speed transportation. 5. When there is a trap in the field operation, the wheels should be avoided at high speed in the pit. 6. Properly maintain the steering system and keep the toe value correct to prevent early tire wear. 7. When disassembling the tire, it should be carried out on a clean floor without the use of tools with notches and sharp corners; when installing, do not bring the sand into the direction, and do not reverse the direction of the pattern. 8. Do not contaminate the oleic acid, alkali, etc. on the tire to prevent corrosion. 9. When not working for a long time, the car should be lifted so that the tires are not under pressure, but do not deflate. In addition, the tire should be protected from exposure to sunlight. Long-term parked locomotives and other implements, if the tires are not suspended, especially when the tire pressure is lower than the specified value, due to the stable deformation, in some cases, the tire carcass will be delaminated and broken, thus greatly shortening the life of the tire. 10. Under normal circumstances, after the tires are used for a certain period of time, the left and right tires should be interchanged to extend the service life of the tires.

Inspection and adjustment method of steering wheel toe

First, the inspection method of the steering wheel toe. There are three common inspection methods for the steering wheel toe: 1. When the steering wheel is suspended, turn the steering wheel to measure the distance between the front end of the two steering wheels and the distance between the last ends. The difference between the two is Toe value. This measurement method has a large error because there is a gap between the steering knuckle and the king pin, between the hub bearing and the steering knuckle, so the state in which the steering wheel is suspended is not the same as the state when the ground is loaded. 2. Measure with a pointer-type front beam ruler. Due to the length of the front beam, the two measuring feet are elastic, and the thickness of the two-wheel steering tire side is different, which also affects the accuracy of the measurement. 3. Measured by the flat cart method. Park the car on a flat surface and mark each of the heights of the rear of the two steering wheel tires to measure the distance between the two marks. Then push the car forward, so that the two steering wheels rotate 180 degrees, that is, turn the mark to 1/2 of the height of the front of the two steering wheel tires, and then measure the distance between the two marks. The difference between the distances measured twice is the toe value of the steering wheel. Then push the car forward, turn the steering wheel 90 degrees, and then measure the toe value of the steering wheel as described above. Take the average of the two measurements as the actual toe of the steering wheel of the car. It is also possible to take several points on the tire for measurement to eliminate the influence of various factors and obtain a more accurate toe value.

Second, the adjustment method of the steering wheel toe. The adjustment of the steering wheel toe is achieved by changing the length of the steering tie rod. When the tie rod is extended, the toe value is increased; the tie rod is shortened, and the toe value is decreased. Below are the general adjustment steps. 1. Loosen the locking bolts on the joints at both ends of the tie rod. 2. In order to see the number of turns of the tie rod, it is best to use chalk to make a mark on the tie rod and the joint. 3. Rotate the tie rod to extend or shorten it. 4. After adjusting, tighten the locking bolts on the joints at both ends of the tie rod.

Causes of abnormal tire wear

    Tire wear is mainly caused by the friction generated by the sliding between the tire and the ground. If the tire is used improperly or is not positioned properly, it will produce abnormal wear and tear. The common abnormal wear is as follows:

1. Early wear of the middle of the tire: The main reason is that the amount of inflation is too large. Appropriately increase the amount of inflation of the tire, which can reduce the rolling resistance of the tire and save fuel. However, when the amount of inflation is too large, it not only affects the vibration damping performance of the tire, but also causes the tire to be deformed too much, and the contact area with the ground is reduced. Normal wear can only be taken up by the middle portion of the tread to form early wear. If a wide tire is used on a narrow rim, it will also cause early wear in the middle.

2. Excessive wear on both sides of the tire: The main reason is insufficient inflation or long-term overload. When the amount of inflation is small or the load is heavy, the contact surface between the tire and the ground is large, so that both sides of the tire come into contact with the ground to participate in work to form early wear.

3. The amount of wear on one side of the tire is too large: the main reason is that the tire is not positioned properly. When the camber angle is too large, the outer side of the tire forms early wear, and when the camber angle is too small or not, the inner side of the tire forms early wear.
